ClearCorrect uses special, clear plastic aligners that look similar to a mouthguard or retainer. These aligners are designed to shift your teeth gently into the proper position, based on the treatment plan provided to you by Dr. Nguyen.
During your first appointment, your mouth will be examined and Dr. Nguyen and he will use images and scans of your teeth to start the process of creating your aligners. You’ll wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day, and switch to a new pair about every 2 weeks, based on Dr. Nguyen’s instructions. Every 6 weeks or so, you’ll come to Willow Creek Smiles for your next several sets of aligners and for a brief checkup.
ClearCorrect usually takes about 20-24 sets of aligners to complete your treatment, so the average treatment time is under a year for most patients, though this may vary depending on your case.
ClearCorrect may be right for you if you have minor-to-moderate orthodontic issues, such as slightly crooked teeth, gaps in your smile, or crowded teeth. ClearCorrect can be used to treat all of these issues and provide you with a straight, beautiful smile.
However, if you have more serious orthodontic issues, such as an open bite or a malpositioned jaw, traditional braces are much more effective for treating major orthodontic problems.
The best way to find out if ClearCorrect is right for you is to schedule an appointment with Dr. Nguyen at Willow Creek Smiles. He will examine your mouth and offer honest advice to help you understand if ClearCorrect is the best choice for your orthodontic needs.
There are some minor differences between Invisalign and ClearCorrect. However, the two treatments are mostly identical. They use the same basic method of orthodontic correction, but with slight differences when it comes to the materials used for the aligners and other small details. ClearCorrect, for example, is usually a bit thinner than Invisalign. This makes it more comfortable to wear, but also means that the aligners are a bit more delicate.
